Illustrative image. Clear information and a careful handover help protect rabbit welfare.
A good transaction protects the rabbit first. Buyers should receive enough accurate information to decide whether they can provide appropriate lifelong care. Sellers should screen homes, describe the rabbit honestly and document what was agreed.
For buyers
Review the seller’s RabbitTrust profile, verification status, history and listing details.
Ask for current photos or video and confirm that the seller controls the rabbit shown.
Ask about age, sex, breed, diet, health history, behaviour, parents and reason for rehoming.
Be cautious when pressured to pay immediately, move the conversation off-platform or send money to a different name.
Do not treat a badge, pedigree or Passport as a veterinary health guarantee.
If possible, inspect the rabbit and conditions safely before final payment.
For sellers
Use recent authentic media and disclose known health, temperament, fertility or identification concerns.
Do not advertise a rabbit as available after accepting a confirmed reservation.
State the reservation amount, refund conditions, handover date and what happens if either party cancels.
Keep important agreements in RabbitTrust Messages so both parties have the same record.
Confirm the buyer understands housing, hay, food, heat protection and veterinary needs.
Safer payment practice
Verify the recipient name and number before sending money. Compare the amount and reference with the actual order. Screenshots can be edited, so sellers should confirm funds in their own account rather than relying only on an image. Never share passwords, one-time PINs or login codes.
At handover, verify identities where appropriate, transfer the correct rabbit, provide its current diet and records, and update the listing status. A connected RabbitTrust Passport or ownership transfer helps preserve continuity, but its member-entered content must still be evaluated.
Report suspicious behaviour to RabbitTrust and retain the messages, listing URL, payment reference and screenshots. For suspected crime or financial fraud, contact the relevant payment provider and Philippine authorities promptly.
RabbitTrust disclaimer
RabbitTrust provides identity, listing, messaging and record tools but cannot guarantee every member, statement, rabbit or off-platform payment. Users remain responsible for careful verification and lawful, welfare-focused transactions.
Fictional worked example · not a member case study
A changed payment recipient is a reason to pause
This fictional transaction example is not a member complaint, a claim of fraud, or a payment guarantee.
Agreed record
The listing, rabbit identifier, price and proposed collection terms have been saved in the conversation.
Change
A new message asks for payment to a different recipient and says to hurry.
Verification
Pause. Confirm the change independently through an established contact method; do not treat a badge or a payment screenshot as confirmation.
Decision record
Record what was verified, what remains unresolved and whether the transaction proceeds. If funds were sent and fraud is suspected, contact the payment provider promptly and use the appropriate local reporting channel.
What this demonstrates: A warning sign calls for verification; it is not evidence sufficient to publicly accuse someone. Keep personal/payment details out of public posts.
The example illustrates records and decisions, not a diagnosis, a care outcome or professional review. Use the existing checklist below for your own observations.

Put this guide to work
Use these steps as a simple starting point, then adapt them to the rabbit, your setup and qualified professional advice.
1
Before either side commits
Keep the discussion on the platform while details are being confirmed. Compare the listing with recent photos or video, ask direct questions about identity and history, and make sure both parties are discussing the same rabbit. A profile, badge, pedigree or Passport is a record—not a guarantee of health, ownership or honesty.
Confirm age, sex, diet, known health concerns and the reason for rehoming.
Ask what is included in the handover and whether the rabbit has a current veterinary record.
Agree in writing on reservation amount, balance, cancellation terms, timing and safe collection.
2
Make payment and handover verifiable
Check the recipient and amount independently before transferring funds. A screenshot is not proof that money cleared; the seller should verify receipt in their own account. At collection, confirm identities and the rabbit, provide current care information, and update the listing only after the agreed transfer is complete.
Keep the listing URL, messages, payment reference and signed or acknowledged handover notes.
Never disclose a password, one-time PIN, verification code or account recovery link.
If a detail changes at the last minute, pause and confirm it through a trusted channel.
3
After the transaction
Save a dated copy of the agreed details and any records handed over. If a dispute arises, report it promptly to RabbitTrust and the relevant payment provider; suspected financial crime should also be reported to the appropriate local authority. Focus the record on verifiable facts and avoid posting private personal information publicly.

Use this to keep the decision grounded in facts. A profile, badge, pedigree or Passport is a record to inspect—not proof of health, ownership or a guaranteed outcome.

Important: Pause if identity, payment details or terms change unexpectedly. Verify through a trusted channel before sending money or sharing personal information.
